For Australian Classic and Sports Car enthusiasts, 2024 has shaped up to be an exciting time, introducing the “Brisbane Motor Museum”. The museum features 3-4 month rotating exhibits on all things Motoring. This next exhibit is on “Seen on The Screen,” as seen on TV and in the movies. There is also a licensed café if you are feeling like a coffee break at your own expense. Cost includes Bus, admission, and lunch at the Geebung RSL. Wheelchair & Scooter friendly. Lyell Deer Sanctuary is home to a small herd of rescued deer. Their passion is to rescue and provide a safe haven for orphaned, injured and displaced deer in Australia. They also have goats, cows, chickens, guinea pigs and peacocks which you can sit with and cuddle. Enjoy hand feeding the deer and many other animals. Wear comfortable shoes, bring a hat and drink bottle. They do sell cold drinks and ice blocks. Cost includes Bus, admission, morning tea supplied by RCB and lunch at the Clear Mountain Lodge. The Mary Valley Rattler has a rich and fascinating history that dates back to the early 20th century. Originally built to transport timber, the railway played a vital role in the region’s development. Today, it has lovingly been restored and offers a unique experience for visitors. With a 3hr and 40km journey, the Mary Valley Rattler is the third longest heritage railway in Australia. Sit back in time and experience the nostalgia of riding a fully restored heritage train through the stunning Mary Valley countryside. This trip has an early start due to the train departure time, but a worthwhile journey. Feel free to bring yourself a flask of tea/coffee and a bit of morning tea for the journey and don’t forget your drink bottle. Lindmar Gardens located in Morayfield is a beautifully presented acreage garden where curving pathways take you past raised beds of tropical and subtropical plants, an established rainforest and shady seating areas. Enjoy the colour and patterns of the flowering bromeliads, coleus and euphorbias as you stroll through the detailed garden. You will find quirky garden features and furniture in each garden area. Wear comfortable shoes, bring a hat and drink bottle. Cost incudes Bus, admission, morning tea supplied by RCB and lunch at The Mill Restaurant at the Caboolture Sports Club. Enjoy a scrumptious individual High Tea while enjoying the panoramic view of Lake Baroon as well as the mountains and rainforest. After having our High Tea and taking time to look at all the beautiful carved woodwork and gardens, we will make our way back to Redcliffe. Redcliffe Museum offers a unique and contemporary look at the people, places, significant moments and stories that have shaped this historical seaside. Exhibition on “Births, Deaths and Marriages”- major life events. How we view and mark them has been shaped by customs, changing fashions, social influences, and world events. From how WW1 changed mourning practices, to the meaning of silver baby gifts, the exhibition will shed light on the rituals, traditions and beliefs behind the experiences we all share.
The Redcliffe Art Gallery will have two exhibitions on – “Wish You Were Here” – a solo exhibition by Kellie O’Dempsey and “Interfacial Intimacy’ – self-portraiture from Tasmania.
